1992 - 2002
Tribute paid by a decade of fans

Tamil and Indian Film Music is among the richest in the World.

It is one genre of World music that has produced prodigious stalwarts that has made a theatre personality from the West exclaim "With the breaking up of the Soviet Union, I expected the next musical revolution to come from there. Never did I expect it from India."

Before we embark on this tribute to this master craftsman of modern music to whom the above remark pertained to, we first salute his illustrious seniors who set the stage for world recognition with their genius output which was nothing less than world-class.

Allah Rakha Rahman's avatar onto the Indian musical scene and national consciousness was divinely timed in a troubled period when the secular image of India was taking a severe beating in the comity of nations due to ugly communal incidents.

His debut music transcended all human barriers of caste, creed, language, religion and even nations and established the universality of music as the language of love and peace. In short, it captured and soothed a disturbed nation's imagination.

Here you will find articles reviewing the experiences of fans for every year of his reign on the world music scene.
